Where it all began ….

My Mum taught me to sew and I grew up wearing beautiful custom-made outfits in a house with lots of lovely quilts, intricate table decorations and items that she had made.

When my little boy was born my mum made me a beautifully personalised baby quilt and I promised myself that one day I would dust off my sewing machine and attempt to make one myself. I joined a brilliant sewing group and that re-ignited my love of sewing and helped me become more confident.

I am a very sentimental person and when my husband threatened to clear out the attic I decided to dust off my little boy’s baby clothes and give it a go myself.

I loved having reminders of so many happy times with my little boy on display in my house rather than boxed up in the attic!

I soon found myself making keepsake blankets and pillows for friends and before long ‘Hearts and Thoughts’ was born!

I absolutely love receiving a box of special memories from a customer and turning it into something that can take pride of place in their house.
